How do I know what type of steering wheel I have?
GPS Adapter can only support OEM equipment and will not be able to support non-OEM product.

Before ordering, email clear photos of your current steering wheel and the replacement wheel to info@gpsadapter.us. We will help confirm the correct adapter and required parts.

Porsche 971-style steering wheel retrofit adapter

STMV1-971 is designed for installing a Panamera 971-style multifunction steering wheel in compatible earlier Porsche vehicles. The kit includes the required 95B-971-388-B internal steering wheel wiring harness.

Compatible Porsche platforms

  • 911: 997 and 991.1
  • Boxster/Cayman: 987 and 981
  • Cayenne: 958.1
  • Panamera: 970.1

Important compatibility notes

  • STMV1-971 supports multifunction controls and optional heating configurations, depending on the selected kit and vehicle hardware.
  • The steering wheel mode switch does not change drive modes with STMV1-971. Its LED can function only as a drive-mode indicator.
  • For a 95B, 991.2, 718 or 958.2-style replacement wheel, choose STMV1/STMV1-H.
  • A 997.1 retrofit requires a compatible 997.2 steering column control module. Steering wheel heating is not supported on 997.1.
  • Heated-wheel retrofits require a compatible clock spring, steering control module, heated wheel and PIWIS activation.
  • Compatibility with aftermarket stereos is not guaranteed.
