Which GPS Adapter Fits My Porsche?

Use this guide to choose between Adapter-X V2, STMV1 / STMV1-H and STMV1-971. The correct kit depends on your vehicle, the replacement steering wheel style, multifunction and heating configuration, and whether you want a functional drive-mode switch.

Choose by upgrade goal

Add a functional Mode Switch

Choose Adapter-X V2 for supported 991.1, 981 and 958.1 upgrades using a compatible newer OEM steering wheel. It synchronizes the steering wheel Mode Switch with the vehicle's center-console drive-mode controls.

Add multifunction or heating

Choose STMV1 for multifunction support without steering wheel heating. Choose STMV1-H when the vehicle and replacement wheel use compatible heating hardware.

Install a 971-style steering wheel

Choose STMV1-971 for a compatible Panamera 971-style OEM wheel. It supports the required wiring and selected multifunction/heating configurations. The Mode Switch does not control drive modes.

Use Adapter-X V2 when a supported vehicle needs functional Mode Switch control. Use STMV1 / STMV1-H when Mode Switch control is not required.

Panamera 971-style wheel

Use STMV1-971 for this wheel style. The kit includes the required internal wiring harness for supported configurations.

Important installation notes

  • GPS Adapter supports OEM Porsche steering wheels and equipment only. Compatibility with non-OEM control modules, wheels, paddles or stereos is not guaranteed.
  • A vehicle originally equipped without multifunction or heating may require a different steering control module, clock spring, activation code and PIWIS coding.
  • Steering wheel and airbag work is safety-critical. Use the official workshop procedure and a qualified Porsche technician if you are not experienced with these systems.
