Steering wheel type information

How do I know what type of steering wheel I have?
GPS Adapter can only support OEM equipment and will not be able to support non-OEM product.

Porsche mode switch and multifunction steering wheel retrofit

Adapter-X V2 adds multifunction controls and a functional drive-mode switch when fitting a compatible newer Porsche steering wheel to an earlier vehicle. The system uses two modules: Adapter-A inside the steering wheel and Adapter-B at the center-console control module.

The modules synchronize the steering wheel mode switch with the center-console drive-mode controls through a private, low-power Bluetooth link. They connect automatically within approximately 3–4 seconds after startup. This connection is internal to the system and cannot be found or accessed from a mobile phone.

  • Cayman 981 (2014–2016)
  • Boxster 981 (2012–2016)

Installation notes

  • A 971-style replacement wheel requires the complete 95B-971-388-B internal wiring harness; the appropriate harness is included with 971-style kit configurations.
  • If the center-console buttons or mode switch stop responding, power-cycle Adapter-B by disconnecting and reconnecting its input connector.
